About AnthonyIn only his second year as a professional, Anthony Napolitan went from relative obscurity to becoming the 2006 AST Dew Tour Dirt Champion. On his way to the Championship, Anthony won the first and last stops of the Dew Tour, and he finished on the podium four out of five times. Anthony also earned his first invitation to the X Games to compete in the Dirt competition, and took home a Bronze Medal as an X Games rookie. Near the end of his amazing 2006 season, Anthony was nominated for the most prestigious BMX Industry Award – the NORA Cup. The NORA Cup nominees and winners are chosen by top Professional BMX riders. To be nominated for a NORA in his sophomore year as a professional is accolade few have ever received. Since 2006 Anthony has continued to be heralded as one of the top young pros of his generation. This was punctuated by winning the Worlds and being crowned The BMX Freestyle World Champion of Dirt in 2009. During the Big Air competition at X Games in 2009, Anthony landed the first ever double front flip in front of thousands of fans and millions of TV viewers. It became one of the biggest moments of the 2009 X Games. Anthony kicked off the 2010 season with two victories at the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds event in Duisburg, Germany placing 1st in the regular dirt jumping competition and 1st the best trick competition. 2010 is looking bright for Anthony. |
